Muhammad Asim Masoom Zubair, aged 24, from Bahawalpur, Pakistan has been recognised with the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts – The Diana Award. Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, the Award is given out by the charity of the same name and has the support of both her sons, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex. Asim was given the award for his work on UN sustainable development goals for last five years and mainly working on the frontline as a healthcare professional during the initial outbreak of Covid-19. Asim is a registered pharmacist & an emerging young researcher. He recently graduated with M.Phil. degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Asim is an international research fellowship recipient in Clinical Pharmacy & Pharmacology from the University of Groningen, Netherlands, in 2017. Asim was the first undergrad pharmacy student from Pakistan who was selected for such competitive fellowship during his undergrad studies.Asim has represented Pakistan in more than 30 International platforms around the globe and has the honor to be the former senior editor of the European Medical Student Association. He has also founded youth-led Disease Control & Research Center & Novelmeds and aims to improve overall public health in Pakistan & globally.In merely 2020, as President of the IUB Science Society, he led the efforts focused on crucial areas like quality education, climate change, biodiversity, breast cancer prevention & predominant illnesses in Pakistan.
